I’ve been eyeing this pattern since it first came out, but haven’t gotten back to sewing again until this summer.

I’ve seen reports here that some have had problems with the fit, so I decided to do a test run in a cheap quilting fabric I got on sale. I thought that the reported gaping neckline wouldn’t be a problem for me as I have wide and high shoulders… but it happened here too. The neckline is low cut, and that’s fine, but then there is the gaping… The fit besides that is just perfect! (It sits much better on me in person than it does in the picture).

Now I know what changes to make to get a dress that fits perfectly and that I’ll be able to wear without constantly reminding myself “Do NOT bend down, do NOT bend down” :-)

I am about to finish my cap-sleeve as well, and I had the same exact problems! I have very broad shoulders, but slips off them like they aren’t there. I am going to have to cut the shoulders to get it to fit. Luckily, it was some blue linen I’d had in my stash forever.

I agree that all the fiddling and fitting is worth it in the end. Serves me right for thinking a 2-piece pattern meant “easy.”
