Hi!! This is burda 07-2009- dress 116, similar to the new 5-2013-dress123 downloadable "here”:http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/printed-maxi-dress-052013/ . I used white jersey for it. It’s a very easy to wear, comfortable and cool for the hot summer days. I like it a lot, I hope you like it too!

That’s a beautiful dress and I’ve downloaded the pattern, and I would like to know how many sizes did you downgrade to make it in jersey from a woven pattern? Thanks a lot!

I had a pattern vinia and it was a straight construction, no tricks. Do you have a pattern or you will draft it on yourself?

I will have to draft it myself…..fingers crossed.

I don’t think it will be hard for you since you have drafted so many patterns! Don’t forget to add interfacing to the straps!
I just remembered that there is a free similar pattern here:
http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/dots-invasion-dress . I think that it is easy to modify this.

The free similar pattern has been lost:(( Maybe you can ask a lady to send it to you.
There is anotherone but not free.
If you plan to draft it tell me to give you some directions about the pattern pieces

Come on friend, this was a copliment! I have a simple sewing machine and sew jersey with a simple zig zag or sometimes with a straight stich. I have many problems with jersey because I don’t have a serger. I don’t even change needle, or presser foot. But since very stretchy jersey is a fabric I use a lot, I have found a trick of my own: stretch jersey while you stich it, the more stretchy is the jersey, the more you stretch. This way the seam becomes elastic. It also becomes a little curly and ungly, but if you press after with steam it’ s perfect. This is my only secret.
      Thanks for commenting sweetie!!!

Yes Liliv…it was a compliment. I admire how you use jersey alot to produce nice garments. I have problems with jersey because it tends to pucker each time I use it and looks very unprofessional. I taught you were using a special machine or twin needles. Thanks for the advice I will try that when I decide to give jersey a try again

I have many problems with jersey too, kisses! Every time I use a new quality I must make again tests to see how to stich it and how it will behave on stretching, pressing etc. I think I need a serger!!
