Summer Sewing Challenge: My Wear Anywhere Dress and Jacket

Shamrock, Texas,...

My blue floral print dress is made from the Gail dress by Burdastyle pattern. http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/gail
Three inches were added to the length of the skirt, which makes it appropriate for more occasions. The yoke is embellished and attached with a hand embroidered insertion stitch. In fact, the yoke was cut into strips and reattached with the insertion stitch. The yoke was cut down around the neck to open it up and make it more comfortable in hot weather.

This dress can be worn alone for a day at the beach or a stroll in the garden. Add a belt and sandals and I am ready to go shopping or meet a friend for lunch. If I am having so much fun wearing my dress all weekend and can’t bear to leave it behind Monday morning, with this smart jacket I don’t have to.
My sage green cotton jacket was made from the Stella jacket by Burdastyle patterns. http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/stella

This fully lined jacket has self rouleau embellishment on the front and the back. Instead of long sleeves, I cut them out as 3/4 length sleeves for summer.

This ensemble is also great for summer vacation. Not only is it versatile, but the sage green jacket will go with everything else in my suitcase. The jacket also includes an interior pocket to keep valuables close while traveling.

I’m ready to go everywhere in My Wear Anywhere Dress and Jacket.

Thank you. Sometimes it’s the small things that make it feel special.
