Summer Dress with Bow Back

Added Apr 7, 2013

Ulaanbataar, Mon...

I made this dress to take on a trip to Vietnam. It’s reversible which makes it perfect for travelling because you get two dresses without taking up too much space in your suitcase.

One side of this dress is made from quilting squares and the other from plain white material. The patterned side has a side seam pocket. The back is sheered and has a ribbon cross over back. I also added a few buttons to give a little bit of extra room to get it on.

A few more photos are here.

Material Notes

Patterned quilting squares from Calico and Ivy
Plain white cotton from Spotlight

Garment Type
Beach, Casual

Adorable dress. So cute. The smock work on the back looks really pretty!

Really cute! And I love that it’s reversible. I’m going to go traveling so maybe I’ll make one like this :)

Thanks so much. I just had a look at your studio – I’m so impressed you made your own jeans!! Maybe I’ll make some like them! :)
