Melbourne, Austr...

‘ve been coveting a simple stripy dress for a while now. Something simple, t-shirt style and kinda loose fitting for the warmer weather. I’ve looked at current patterns in the pattern books at work and have checked out different styles online and on customers at work but yet again i found the perfect pattern in my stash at home.

Pattern: Simplicity 9521 (1980)
I made a size 10 but shortened it by about 5cm. I didn’t add the elastic waistband, i want to have the option of wearing it loose or with a belt. One side of the hem is straight, the other has a split.

This is a great pattern, It took me a few hours to make. It looks great and feels so comfortable in the Aussie heat (40+C). I think it will be an inter seasonal dress with the ability to layer it in colder weather too.

Material Notes

Cool dress! I like your sandals too! Are the pictures taken in Melbourne?

Nice version – leaving off the elastic really updates the style – and I really like the stripes!
