Spring time Marie & JJ Blouse

Added Mar 10, 2015

Both the top & skirt are burda. I liked the idea of having a jj blouse with lots of ruffles & was lucky to have enough material to make one. Its more time consuming but well worth the effort. I will tack down the ruffles in areas to keep them from becoming to whirly.

The skirt is a simple construction which has a higher waist. I love the style of the skirt and can see why its popular. I have to make another very soon!!

Both fabrics are from the stash.

Material Notes

The jj blouse is made from cotton clip dot batiste. The Marie skirt is made with a cotton twill. I reused some vintage buttons that I swapped from a previous project.

Did you use the facing pieces and also did you line the skirt?

very vintage, with a dash of femininity and polish to top it off. Great job! I really like the idea of tacking your ruffles, I may have to use that. I think that counts as another step toward couture standards? Well it does to me, so awesome!
