Spring-time Elisalex

London, United K...

Fitted dress made with the Elisalex pattern by By Hand London. It has a princess seamed bodice and a pleated skirt. I followed the sew-along hosted by By Hand London and had a great time making it up! The fabric is cotton twill from Liberty on the outside and a soft moss green polycotton as the bodice lining.
This was my first time doing a dress with a separate bodice, first time doing princess seams and first box pleats – and I’m so happy with the results!

Thank you Cathy! Your stripey bed sheet tee has just reminded me I have some similar fabric that might work for another dress in this pattern so thanks for the inspiration!

Great job on all your firsts!

(BTW, Did you realize the “guy” on the floor seems to be looking up your dress? LOL)

Looks great! Lined too! That feels so nice and you feel like you’re wearing a super, high-quality dress.

Thank you! Yes, next time I’m going to line the whole thing rather than just the bodice.
