Spring green, part 2

Well, when Spring time arrives, I really need green around me, winter is so grey and white…
I decided to try this pattern, making the piping, self-fabric loops and covered buttons. Oh my! A lot of work, steps, parts, so it took me ages (still the hem needs to be reworked). Moreover, I made the skirt part in size 38 at the hip, which I shouldn’t have done, now it is too big… And I didn’t shorten the pattern so it is quite longer on me. So, after all that , I’m not crazy about it but I’ll try to wear it more casually.

I know what you mean, the dress is great, the fabric is gorgeous, you have a lovely figure but it’s missing the wow factor. I’ve racked my brain b/c this same thing has happened to me recently. If you allow me this is what I came up with. After looking at other versions (2 specifically had the wow factor) It’s all in the fit of the torso. The 2 that I mean had the waist really high , like an empire waist , barely just about 1” below the breast, and the collar is about 2” tighter around the neck, creating more of a “ c” shape and less of a “ ( “ shape. It seams like a small difference but I’m actually making these modifications on a dress I just bought and it makes all the difference , anyway just my two cents.

It’s a really beautiful dress and suits you so well! I love all these details, especially the numerous, little buttons! But I can undrestand that when you’ve put so much effort on a project you may be fed up with it…

Thank you! I bought this fabric as soon as I saw it in the store because I really liked the print and colors. Too bad it’s a twill viscose and not a nice piece of silk☺

Very much admire your fabric print-it seems to suggest a retro decade but in colours other than grey, black and white. Congratulations on a stunning project outcome! You will enjoy it forever.

Thank you purplefan! Funny as it is the purple flowers and the idea of using purple piping that drew me to this pattern!
