Spotted Imazu Kasia

Added Apr 1, 2010

Here is my latest finished project, this time Burdastyle’s pattern Kasia skirt made up in our Japanese cotton Imazu Spotted Night. The pattern is fabulous and quick to sew – with very clear instructions. I’ve made this up for a friends daughter who’s been wanting a high waisted skirt. I made no alterations to the pattern except cutting out the 38 for the bottom half of the pattern and the 36 for the top, as the pattern measures very snug at the hip.
I really love the button and gathered yoke detailing on this skirt. The only decision now is long or short for the length…what do you think?

Material Notes

Beautiful! The longer length is more flattering. I asked some men about, which skirt length they think is the most flattering for a woman and they all said: a little bit over the knees and I agree. Very rarely I see women which are looking great in a shorter skirt :) It has something to do with the whole silhouette.

I LOVE this skirt! It’s sexy but in a subtle way and you can wear it to almost any occasion. I’d keep it long though, but thats’s just my opinion. :)

I love your version of this skirt; it is so stylish. Looks like either length would be great too…

This is a fab version of Kasia – just love those spots!!! I am a little bias re length – I am a sucker for just past the knee (the most flattering length I think!) but if it is for a young chick-a-dee she may like it shorter!

Thank you all for your very encouraging comments. So encouraging in fact, that I’m going to attempt a variation of the Linda skirt…wish me luck!

Gorgeous, and beautiful sewing! I like it long myself but obviously go with whatever feels best…

What a beautiful garment! I am going to go against the previous commentors and say go with the Long version! It’s more sophisticated.

It looks great! And now i want to make another (4th) Kasia. Love both lengths but maybe she’d prefer the shorter style?
