I’m currently training to be a maths teacher and I made this dress for when I was on placement., It was smart and colourful, and it was around christmas time, and tartan always reminds me of christmas for some reason!
The children LOVED it and were really impressed that I had made it… though kids being kids, they then thought I must be able to make EVERYTHING, and were subsequently very dissapointed whenever I wore somethingstore bought! lol :D

I like putting a waist belt on with it, to break up the colour!

Also – I am very ashamed of my broken bookcase in the background! haha!

Material Notes

I used tartan, and made sure it was quite thick so it kept its tailored shape better! you could easily make this using suiting material though!

This is really cool. I"ve always wanted to do a plaid dress. Yours is very inspiring.

I like the direction of the panel pieces in the skirt section. Very nice. With this dress, I would imagine that you are the best dressed maths teacher in the school. And the kids seem to appreciate your sewing talent too!!! hee hee kids are funny!
