Sixties Orange Checkered Dress

Achterhoek, Neth...

I made this dress with the Pleated V Neck Dress pattern. I didn’t need the zipper. I also made the skirt a little more pencil-like.

Material Notes

I bought a 5 euro piece of squared jerseyfabric, barely enough for the pattern

WOW! It is so nice to see what the dress looks like on a little fuller figure than the burda model, and I think you look great and the dress flatters you well! Nice job!

All you guys, thanks for your lovely comments! I’m new to BurdaStyle.com and I’m feeling so very welcome!

@TwistedPoppy: I almost ruined the dress with the yokes, but fortunately my dear mother came to rescue. You just have to sew the yokes onto eachother (good sides outside), so you’ll have a double sided yoke which is stronger and stays better in shape on your shoulder.

How am I the only person who was totally confused by the yokes? I so badly wanted to make this dress and yours is beautiful but I gave up on it after 3 failed yoke attempts.
