Shimmery Poplin Plaid A-Plus A-Line

Added Oct 15, 2009

by ziancabug

Brooklyn, New Yo...

The skirt is made of a shimmery plaid poplin with a magenta acetate lining. The lining actually matches the magenta in the skirt (as you can see in the skirt on the hanger picture), but photos were coming
out a little purple this morning.

I didn’t want to change the pattern too much since it is such a classic shape and I picked a pretty bold fabric, but I made a few minor adjustments:  added a back pleat, shortened it, planned the pleats based on the plaid, and cut the yoke on the bias so that the plaid appears diagonally.

Material Notes

Plaid poplin and magenta acetate lining

I am really loving your design choices, shorter with bold plaid looks great. And the back pleat gives shape to the poplin.
