Lace Leggings – BurdaStyle 06/2012 #124

Inspired by Meg’s paneled leggings and the latest trends, I decided to draft a diagonal patchwork seam/join on the base leggings pattern, drawing an angle which when folded in half starts low in the front and rises at the back. I wanted to be resourceful as I had two different knit fabric remnants from a sewing store bargain bin sale lol but not enough to use a whole piece for the leggings. So I joined them together for something different, and the sheer glittery mesh panel feels nice and cooling. I used a zig zag and long straight stitch combo. I added cuffs around the bottom to tie the look together, and now they resemble track pants. Both knits only have crosswise stretch, so I made these leggings a few sizes up, and they fit terrifically. Location: Herne Bay

Material Notes

dark blue knit ribbing/jersey with crosswise stretch, metallic patterned mesh knit with crosswise stretch, medium width elastic.
