Sheer Overlay Wrap Blouse

Added May 2, 2014

Since our new Wrap Blouse is super popular I decided to make one for myself! I kept with the white theme of the pattern but just added a sheer printed chiffon overlay, and adjusted the hem length a bit.

I can wear this blouse with pants or a skirt, and it is suitable for both day and night. I am super excited to start wearing it out! This blouse was my project for my latest April Mash Up, so be sure to check it out to see pictures of my drafting and sewing process.

Material Notes

Stretch cotton, Printed Chiffon

That’s a great version. Making a muslin of this type, I decided to make it a ‘work of art’ just for fun and imitated the Celine designs for spring/summer 2014 by painting mine up with fabric paint. Details and photos of the work in progress on my blog http://chanelno6.blogspot.ch/. (I’ve just added some sewing tips about the mitred corner and sewing up the overlap and shoulder seams for anybody doing their own version.)

This pattern has great potential for all kinds of interpretations.

Thanks Ellen, it is super comfy to wear since I used a cotton with widthwise stretch. I don’t think I can ever go back to sewing garments in fabrics without any stretch.

I love it! I was planing to make this blouse for my brother’s girlfriend, it’s gonna fit so well in her cool and minimalistic wardrobe (unlike mine :D). I was also thinking to make it two toned, I love how you extended the front panel so I maybe do that as well :)
