Description

Butterick 5285 (view c) – I initially wanted to make a navy blue pleated skirt after seeing one at Lacoste that was $150. A little out of my price range. I bought this pattern for $10 when Spotlight had a sale and the material cost me about $20 so I think I did well in saving myself some money. Unfortunately I could not find a nice navy material at Spotlight so I decided to do a grey and purple version instead. At first I was not that impressed with it but when I made it into an outfit I liked it more. I will add action photos once I get them.

This skirt has a nice, young, sporty look. I like your choice of a dark border color, much nicer than all Navy ! It looks like a skirt that can be worn to many functions: work, date, weekends. Did you find a border color gray/purple, or did you sew the border material on as a tier ?
