Scarlett O'Hara Barbecue dress

Added Jul 11, 2013

I made this dress for a costume party. I drafted the pattern myself: simple darted bodice and gathered skirt (5 meters!) of chiffon for the dress. The underdress is composed of a handmade corset, a hoop-skirt (3 meters) and an over-skirt (4 meters), all made in heavy muslin.
The ribbons are organza and the umbrella was recovered with some silk retail and chiffon from the dress.
The dress was surprisingly confortable for its heavy foundation and made me feel so much like a princess I didn’t want to take it off at the end of the night…

Thanks Camis! I was quite happy, it looks like the original even if the fabric is not identical.
