Love pattern Pleated Blouse 06/2014 #115. The hemline is dropped in the front versus the back which is so flattering. Found a wonderful stretch silk crepe in beautiful jewel tone. Great top for travel, layering and all seasons.

Gorgeous! Was the fabric hard to work with?

Thank you! No, I didn’t find it to misbehave too much, but here’s some tips I put into place when working with it: I do not cut on the fold, especially with fabrics that are slippery or have stretch. I make a full pattern piece of the front and back and cut it out in a single layer of fabric. I stabilize the fabric by placing a sheet (or sheets) of paper under the fabric before I cut. I have come to love this type of paper in working with pattern making and cutting out projects: Exam Table Paper (smooth texture). You can get it at most office supply stores. It’s fairly transparent and has a crispness to it that makes it similar to tissue paper patterns, but stronger and easier to work with. And you can press it. And, I use a rotary cutter instead of scissors. I’ve found that I have a smoother cut and less movement of the fabric, which makes it stretch. Let me know if you need more tips! -curry
