sans-sweetheart day dress

Northborough, Ma...

I made this dress for my daughter for Easter. I used a ponte knit instead of a woven. To compensate, I cut a size smaller, but lengthened the pieces to match her measured size. I made a couple modifications to the style… I straightened the neckline and drafted a 3/4 circle skirt. Then, because my fabric was plenty thick, I did not line the dress. Instead, I drafted an all-in-one facing for a clean finish.

Gorgeous dress, I love your improvements. The neckline is now more age appropriate. Lovely fabric as well x

Awesome dress!! She looks great ! I love the changes you made; I didn’t like the original neckline for a young girl. Great fabric choice.

Thank you! The sweetheart neckline just didn’t feel right to me either, glad I made the simple change.
