Royal blue pants

These are a pair of royal blue pants I made using no 127 from Burda 10/2013 as a template. I accidentally thought they were slim (and looking at the pics on the pattern, who can blame me) but they obviously weren’t, which I realized when I had made the toile. So I ended up pinning them in and drafting a whole new pattern.

I’m seriously proud of these puppies and I might even redo them in a different color, and maybe just a tad slimmer.

Read more about them over at my blog

Hi these are fantastic. What kind of fabric is it?

Thank you! The fabric is a cotton/elastane mix (unfortunately I don’t remember the percentage) from a local fabric vendor. Having worn them now for several months I would say that the fabric isn’t sturdy enough. By the end of the day the pants have gone out and turned way too big for me, which means I have to wash them constantly just to keep the fit. Too bad, but they have at least kept the color really well.

Oh no!!! Looks like it’s my turn to apologise, sorry. I was clicking on reply. Lol! It always happens when I use my phone to post comments, I should stick to the laptop. Again, so sorry.

Making my own pants always scares me. Yours look great!

Thank you, that’s kind! And I know (!!) pants ARE scary. Mainly because of the fitting issues. There are like seriously a zillion reasons why they may be ill-fitting. Other than that it’s really just a long series of relatively straight-forward steps.
