For this challenge I took two basics that everyone has in their closet; a Hooded Sweatshirt and Black T-Shirt and turned them into unique and sophisticated blazer. This is an original design that I initially intended to use a woven fabric for, but I like how it turned out in the sweatshirt knit. It makes the structured blazer more comfortable and suitable for everyday wear.

Besides a seam ripper, my iron was one of the most useful tools when creating this garment. I used it to not only press out the wrinkles but also in fusing the interfacing, which gave the wrap around collar the structured look I was going for.

Material Notes

Oversized Hooded Sweatshirt
Black T-Shirt
Vintage Brass Embellishments

Garment Type
Bohemian, Military, Rock, Vintage
Cotton, Knits/Jersey, Lace/Sequins

Thanks! This is actually an original design that I had recently finished, and this project seemed like the perfect opportunity to test it out.

Wow! I love the sequence and the visible seams on the shoulders. This is rather nice!

Thank you! I’ve been really into the raw/ unfinished look recently. Although it took me a few times to remember sew the right sides together.
