Retroswirly tights

Self-drafted, using stretch jersey knit. In reality will probably wear these with boots, but showing them as full length as possible here!
I didn’t get enough fabric to go from hip to toe-tip which was initially annoying, until I realised a roun-the-hip seam wasn’t going to show anyway, and made for a more economic use of fabric as I could use up the full width…

Material Notes

printed stretch jersey knit

Garment Type
Casual, Grunge, Mod

    Hello Carolyn,

Your tights are gorgeous on you – superb job! I love your cream coloured top too. Did you make that yourself? If so, do you have a pattern for it or do you know where I can find a similar one?

Your leggins look great. If anybody’s interested, I’ve recently posted a sketch on how to draft a leggins pattern in my studio, under the lace-leggins project. Happy sewing!

thanks Mitmit! My version is technically tights, not leggings, but you could easily convert a leggings pattern to tights by extending the leg and shaping a foot on the end!

Once again here you post another gorgous garment. I would love to see your pattern, either here or on your blog, which I always follow! What gorgeous colors, and you can easily wear them as is — no need to cover up the beautiful work in boots. They add joy and color to the day!

thankyou for your comment! I’ll see what I can do about sharing the pattern… btw, the sight of one’s thigh circumference laid out on the floor in a flat pattern is a very scary sight!!!
