Refashioned running top

I’m a runner and I tend to accumulate a lot of race tees, which are often oversized and boxy – but this one is from a lovely little running shop I visited when I was in Baltimore, and I promised the owner I’d refashion it and send him photos of me wearing it by Tower Bridge!

I added a bit of seaming to this pattern due to fabric constraints, and I left off the sleeves, but otherwise it’s a straight size 42. One thing I really like about this pattern is that there are no side seams – it uses side panels instead! One thing to note is that this pattern doesn’t have much ease. This is fine if you’re making the scuba/running/cycling view and expect it to be tight-fitting, but the pattern pieces are also shared for the teeshirt view and the dress with curved waist band, where the lack of ease might come as a surprise!

Looks great! As for the size issue, I just noticed the pattern doesn’t include seam allowances…. Could that be why?

hahah no! I’ve made (no exaggeration) hundreds of patterns from Burda magazine, and I’m 100% comfortable with adding on my own seam allowances. But thanks for asking!

I saw yours after I uploaded, they look great! Glad to hear it wasn’t just me who thought they fit a bit closer than normal. :)
