Red Phoenix Dress

Added Aug 17, 2013

I made this dress for the Tessuti Awards, run by Tessuti Fabrics. The dress is my own design. I used a French Taffeta, which was a beautiful fabric. The dress underwent a lot of unpicking and reattaching and a lot of frustration!! Maybe I’ll wear it in a couple of years when I feel we can be friends again.

I really liked your design. I absolutely HATED this fabric. It was impossible to pin and I was so disapointed we had to use a selected fabric (or 2). Only 70 people entered this year compared to 200+

I love Tessuti’s fabrics and it’s so fun every year to choose something you’d like to wear. I always buy way more than I need and extras too on my trip. I hope they give us free roaming next year.

Thank you! I loved the look and feel of the fabric but I completely agree about the pinning, I shredded my fingers with pin injuries!! Especially with all the gathering it made it thicker and even harder!
