Stanford, South ...

I made these bags for a magazine in return for free advertising. I hope I get lots of sales out of all this work. My original plan was to have the coloured fabric along the top of the bag and to have white tabs. The embroidery was done in the wrong place, so I had to change my plan. I think having the names at the top and not having a white bottom is better. The deadline was moved up so I have been working really hard this week. I’m only posting a photo of one of the backs, they all look the same.

Material Notes

They wanted white denim. The only white denim I could find in my town was stretch. There are 5 different coloured embroidered cottons.

Love these bags! What pattern did you use? I am needing to find a pattern to make my grandchildren’s teachers each a bag for Christmas and I really like the looks of these bags. Keep up the great work. I sure wish I had an embroidery machine, it would make my life so much easier…Happy Sewing!!!

Thank you. So far I have an order for a similar one from my aunt :) They are based on a pattern in the book “Making Vintage Bags” by Emma Brennan. I don’t have an embroidery machine either, I had to get it done by someone else.
