"Print blocking" 2-piece Trouser and Blouse set

Added Mar 22, 2019

I sewed tailored drawstring trousers and a blouse, using a light crepe fabric with a geometric print in playful bubble-gum colours.

For the blouse, I modified by bodice sloper by shifting some of the waist dart to the armhole to widen it and then “bloused out” the bodice by adding wearing ease at the sides and also by not stitching the waist dart.

The waist of trouser has an elastic tape and also a drawstring.

“Fabric print-blocking” is an awesome design technique, I consider it to be the union of fabrics with different colours but with identical print pattern.

I’ve put the detailed sewing steps on my blog – https://nedoux.com/2017/02/25/suitably-paired/
