I found some so called Christmas fabric, 50% off in the post Christmas sales and decided it would suit a 50’s style summer frock. Only second time I had attempted gathers..they are a bit wonky..think I am gradually getting better at sewing.

I about 20cm (ish) to the skirt length

Oh and I added a Cherry appliqu I bought on etsy

Pattern New Look 6457. View A

Material Notes

cotton something..fairly light. Apparently part of spotlight’s Christmas range.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate getting comments, makes me realise maybe I am doing better than I think :)..oh and my poor parasol (and my skin!) doesn’t get to come out with me nearly as much as it should. I might change that!

The dress is lovely, and I really like the cherry detail. I am jealous of that gorgeous parasol!

Great dress and I can’t tell that anything is wonky with the gathers.

Fits really well, and the fabric was a good choice for the pattern.

Very cute. I do love the 50s vibe. Great use of christmas fabric.
