Polka-dot Bathers

Added Oct 19, 2010

I modified the bikini version of the McCalls 2772 slightly to make these bathers. I added a body skirt to the front underneath the bikini, and changed the back to be a long one piece, elasticated at the top. I like the way the “tankini” pulls down long enough to cover up the bottoms and almost passes for a one-piece. I cut up an old bra to line the bodice rather than buy new cups.
I’m very happy with how they turned out, and will be wearing them daily this summer for sure!
They might look old-fashioned, but this pattern is only a few years old.

Material Notes

Navy swimwear fabric with ivory polkadots, swimwear elastic

Garment Type
Knits/Jersey, Polyester

I work in a dress shop, and old fashioned togs and bikinis are not only in, but have been the best sellers this year!
