Plaid wool Jacket

Added Oct 26, 2014

by Ellen Hatteland

Nedre Vats, Norway

This pattern cached my eyes and I had to give it a try. I found this plaid wool fabric in my stash, and I knew it was the right one for this jacket! I have used faux leather for the collar, end of sleeves and the pockets as in the pattern, and I’ve used red satin as lining. Since the buttons was big I decided to use snap buttons.
I used the jacket for the first time on our trip to Bergen :)

Material Notes

Wool fabric and satin for the lining.

Fall, Winter
Garment Type
Casual, Classic
Satin, Wool

Plaid fabric is always nice and is really good for this jacket. And your outfit suits not only you but the landscape on the background as well:-) A choice of the lining is great and some bright accessoire would be perfect to emphasize your cheerful temper:-)

Ooooh, that’s nice – love to hear that :-)) It’s funny, but we don’t use so much “brighten up” colors in winter time… We have to do something about that :)

Not only you there, it’s a usual thing here too. But I always think why we don’t use bright spots in clothes to colour the really grey autumn and winter days which are just begging to be cheered up:-)))

Oh Ellen, this jacket is gorgeous. Love the fabric and the style :) I am working on this pattern right now, I have to make two muslins to get the perfect fit. And I am so glad to see your version. My jacket probably will be finished next month, I hope! :)
