I made this for the Pink and Red Contest (even though it’s an hour late…) It’s my first sewing project using the machine for anything big. I’ve also never done a dress before, or really had to use a pattern. So this was a dress of many firsts for me, and that’s the main reason why I’m late to submit. I’m hoping it’s still allowed in, but even if it isn’t, I’ve at least proven to myself that I can make clothing from scratch and it can look OK. Plus, Valentines’ Day is coming up, so now i have something to wear.
I used miasu’s contour bust dress and tute for the pattern. It’s very easy to understand (good for me, since this is my first), but it does require more modification than I’d thought: I had to put in darts under the arms, add a sash from my ribcage to my waist, and extend the back a bit. But all in all, it’s very good. Thanks to miasu.

Material Notes

pink linen for the bodice and skirt
pink tulle for the under-skirt
red satin for the sash
remnants used for lining and upcoming straps

I just wanted to add that yes, this project is made using a variation on miasu’s Contour Bust Dress and Tute, but my computer wouldn’t let me add that. So, credit (and gratitude) where both are due.
