Picnic time!

As soon as I bought this beautiful piece of cotton, I knew I wanted to make a copycat of Betty’s floral picnic dress as seen in Mad Men. I drafted the pattern with a simple gathered rectangle skirt, and a princess lined bodice. I then added spaghetti straps and two little bows for decoration. Of course, I had to wear it to my own picnic!

The picnic blanket is also homemade, with 1.5m x 1.5m of quilting fabric backed with hardwearing outdoor fabric of the same size.
