Where, oh where can I get fabrics like this in Australia, preferably by mail order? I live in country Victoria, and my biggest problem is sourcing fabrics, particularly wool/winter/suiting weight fabrics that aren’t nasty and scratchy and full of synthetic fibres. If anyone has a link, can you pass it on? I’m sure I could get some Pendleton’s posted from the US, but the postage is prohibitively expensive…

This photo shoot is gorgeous, I just had to say how much I like it. The colors, the model, the poses, the balloons-it’s all fabulous. I love the cape too but I think I’d use a green tweed wool instead of the bright blanket fabric to match my wardrobe.

Just not a fan of pendleton’s blanket fabric. I grew up in Portland so it just reminds me of the ten gallon hat wearing, gun toten conservatives. Now their plaids, and suit weights, awesome, amazing, gorgeous.

I absolutely love your cape! And what attention to detail! The way you created the V in the back and matched the pattern on the material perfectly! Not to mention the front and hood. It is a pleasure to look at. Thank you for sharing.

Loving the colours + motif. I’m picturing this on the opposite grain with the stripes running horizontally, or on the bias with the stripes converging at the centre with equally striking effects :-)

Beautiful! I just purchased a few yards of Pendleton wool from their booth at the Sewing & Stitchery Expo last week. The colors and prints of Pendleton are like no other. I’ve been dreaming of a Lindsey Thornburg Pendleton cloak for quite some time and picked up the wool specifically to make something similar. This post couldn’t of come more timely! I made a hood and scarf combination with one of the pieces (will post soon) and am saving the rest of my treasured wool for a cape next fall.

That’s wonderful! Pendleton’s fabric website has some of the same wool Thornburg used on sale!
