Peacock Shirt! ♕

This shirt started from a sketch i made in the “broken sewing machine” period, one month ago… I decided then that it’s going to be one of the lucky sketches that actually becomes reality!

To make the peacock feather trails quite literal I transformed a feather snap editing it into the desired shape and chose 6 shades of acrylic fabric colours. I have been planning for some time to try fabric painting and now I’m eager to try some more! The artificial silk is recycled from a saree and it matched my project perfectly!

There are peacocks in the wilderness close to my house, I haven’t had the chance to see them yet, but now with my new camouflage shirt I’m sure I can pass among them unnoticed! Also hopefully that would be the only context to (proudly) go unnoticed in my new shirt!

I’d love to read your comments here, on etsy or on my blog

Last but not least, best wishes for the New Year: if Santa skipped something from your list, may the New Year bring it to you! And may you feel as proud of your clothing as a peacock!

Thank you! It was hard to decide with so many different versions and ideas in mind, but I’m glad in the end it came out as one unitary design!

Ah! I don’t know about my skills, they are conventionally “unclassifiable”, but I do try and I am stubborn! :) Today I’m proud nevertheless;) …Thank you!

There’s a small headache put into every single detail… the painting was done in 3 days so that the old layers of colours get dried… I guess it could have been done it quicklier but when I do something for the first time I reaaaally like to take my time!
