I drafted this pattern from the excellent Japanese pattern book, Pattern Magic by Nakamichi Tomoko, no small challenge since this book is entirely in Japanese a language in which I am sadly completely ignorant…

Material Notes

blue crepe, blue shoestring, lining fabric

Garment Type
Casual, Other

I follow your blog, and enjoy reading about your wardrobe refashions and new creations. A fellow student in one of my sewing classes is making dresses from the book you mentioned. She first does the muslins, then after many muslins, the dresses. Yours looks really nice, as do all of your refashions.

Wow!! I applaud u for being able to create the dress from a pattern entirely written in a foreign language!!! That’s the spirit! ;) Great result too!

I wanted to do this but couldn’t decide how to do the side as I don’t want my skin showing but don’t want to totally cover it up because I was afraid it would loose the appeal. Now, I am thinking maybe a mesh or something. You done a good job and chose a good color for the job too. Very cute.
