Pants with Side Slits

I wanted a breezy pair of pants for the summer and decided to make these with side slits up the side seams. On the pattern I measured up my desired slit height and stitched the seam to this marking. Then I pressed the allowance all open (serge-finishing the edges beforehand) and the edges to the wrong side around the slit. To secure the slit I topstitch around pivoting at the top marking.

Love how these turned out!! I used multi-stripe rayon cotton voile in navy that I ordered from Blackbird Fabrics and it was the perfect pairing!

For the top I decided to used from leftover twill from my latest Mash Up skirt and formed the pleat my hand while I was trying on the top since I didn’t love how the hemline was laying. Ended up working out great and makes for an interesing hemline and top.
