Description

So I liked this pattern, but the instructions made NO sense. I read through once, was terrified, and proceeded to assemble everything without looking at them. To be fair though, I never did figure out what to do with the facing… oops. Can I also just point out that this is a tall pattern and I’m 5’3"? So I took a lot off of the hem. I bought the checked wool at a thrift shop but I didn’t have enough for the back pleat or the sleeves, which was fine – in the end, I think the pleather is pretty good. I couldn’t find soft enough faux leather, so I bought a used jacket and cut the sleeves off of it. As you can see in the pictures, I did the worst job of pressing ever, so I’m going to have to go back and redo that – thankfully an easy fix!

The insulation is flannelette and I’m guessing the lining is a cotton-silk blend, although I’m not sure.

Thank you so much! I’m pretty passionate about consumption (esp. fabric), so it always feels great to repurpose something. Have a great evening :)

Fantastic coat. I always find the instructions confusing so I try and work them out myself as well x

Thanks! I agree; it’s easier to just figure it out yourself. But when it comes to something like bagging a jacket lining, it’s like mental gymnastics! I find that online tutorials often help quite a bit.
