Description

This is very easy to follow and has boasted my confidence as I’ve never made button holes or attempted pleats before. Size wise the patten maker did a excellent job no extra fitting was needed I used a UK size 16 as I’m in between sizes and thought it may be too big but it’s not, I shortened the length slightly but after I tried it on I think next time I won’t shorten it as much and have a deeper hem line. Fabric wise it’s floaty soft cotton with oranges and lemons on, I picked this up for about £2.00 in the bargain bin at my local fabric shop. for Helena number 2 I may try a more stiffer fabric and will definitely be making many more of these and try to add the pockets on.

Thank you this was a very cheap skirt at £2.00 for the fabric. Button holes do look scary but if you have a automatic machine foot they are not that hard. I practiced on a sample bit of fabric after about the 3rd attempt i got it…. I’m no master but give them a go and I’d recommend this patten they are OK once you practice practice and PRACTICE lol

I really like the fabric and am not brave enough-yet- to try button holes. Looks great.
