Open Back Peplum Top

I loved the open back dress pattern, but since I didn’t think I’d get much wear out of it as a dress, I converted it into a blouse. After I constructed the bodice of the dress I added a self-drafted peplum and two buttons for the closure. It’s the perfect summer top!

What a great idea! I loved this from the magazine too but then I looked at the fabric requirements. I like your top version better since, like you said, it would probably get worn a whole lot more.

Thanks! I definitely used way less fabric than the pattern called for – probably only 1 or 1.5 yds. I’ve already worn it twice :)
