Description

Once again, inspiration for this dress came from a magazine. It didn’t say where you could buy it, and I had to have it so I bought myself some fabric and got sewing!

The black panels down the sides actually came about after I cut the dress too small. I cut around a t-shirt that I already had but I forgot to include seam allowances, silly me! I only had 1 meter of the fabric so I came up with the idea of putting the panels down the sides. Now I like it better than the original because it breaks up the stripes and streamlines the figure!

I made myself a double bow and added some red ribbon as a belt and… I love the result!

Material Notes

1 meter of stretch jersey, 2 meters of red ribbon and some white cotton

I love the beautiful “mishap” of your side panel cuz they make the horizontal lines less stringent and totally your own creation. Your other pieces have such a fun character to them as well so you must party a lot! :)

Thanks! I agree that the panels really make this dress. I wish all my mistakes would turn out this good!

And yes I do love to dance the night away! I’m glad you think my pieces are fun, I’m all about the fun times! : )

      No, sorry I don’t have a pattern. I just traced around a t-shirt that I already had.

I think your mistake was the making of this dress. I love how the solid colour breaks up the stripes and does wonders to your shape.

Love it! love the red contrast, the black sides (much better than if it were plain stripes, imo) and I would kill for your shoes!
