I purchased similiar fabric and then chickened out on making the dress, I did not think I could wear the fabric. You look awesome in your dress

GORGEOUS! It’s hard to believe you’re a beginner! Your dress makes me wish I hadn’t written off this pattern as weird when it was on sale!

I just wish people would stop mixing up Qipaos with Kimonos.

    Apart from this, lovely.

Thanks! I didn’t know the proper name of it, but I knew it wasn’t a kimono. Props to you for knowing the right term!

Well, thanks. Glad I could help.
Qipaos are worn in China, so the Geisha reference was just slightly off geographically. ;-)

By the way: I didn’t mean to sound harsh in my comment, this was just a bit annoying as people mix up these things all the time and then say “oh, it’s all asian anyway, what does it matter”. So if you really wanted to know this, I’m happy.

Oh, and this was only your second time? Great!

oh no, I really do appreciate it! I would rather call it what it should be called. So thank you!

And yeah, it was just my second attempt. There were a few mistakes but I am pretty happy with it!!
