Description

I love this shirt. It’s made with two layers of breezy cotton lawn so its super light and airy. I used New Look pattern #6696, and was immediately intrigued by the shirred elastic back. (I have since used the back pattern piece for several dresses, it’s amazing!)

Soooo cute! I just bought 6 yards of white bleached muslin with the intent to make some cute and simple summer dresses and tops but haven’t found the inspiration yet. This is wonderful!! I’m going to have to try the shirring, too!

Muslin would be perfect for this! It’s from New Look Pattern #6696, and there’s a dress option as well. Don’t be scared of the shirring, it’s so easy. Good Luck!

Is is difficult to do the elastic shirring in the back?

Not at all. You just make a bunch of different casings and then pull the elastic through every other one. It’s super easy.
