Description

I downloaded this pattern a while ago but hesitated to get start on it. Just about 3 weeks ago, I finished 2 projects back to back in a week so my confidence in sewing was at all time high. But once I finished cutting out all the pieces, I quickly became humble. Working on this skirt is the closest to solving a puzzle because it has 12 pieces and the instruction is not much of a help. I literally reading the instruction word by word and line by line over and over again to make sure I completely understand it. My determination got me as far as step 8 (out of 10 steps) with mistakes along the way. I was completely frustrated and diappointed until I saw juleken posted her Kasia. I was once again inspired. Thanks to Juleken because one of her pictures shows exactly where I got stuck on. I was able to move forward and slowly saw the light at the end of the channel. I have always so envy those who have completed this project. And now that I look back, it is pretty fun to go through frustration because I now truely treasure my very own precious Kasia. Thank you BurdaStyle for the pattern! <3

I actually measured myself and followed their size chart to pick out the size. But it came out to be 2 sizes bigger! I think it also happened to other people. That’s the other part of the frustration is the sizing of this pattern is off. Because it is a pencil skirt, it gets tricky to fit right with the waist and thights.

I just made a kasia! Am wearing it as I type, I’m yet to put up photos though..

I was confused with sizing, but went with the pattern measurement guide, which was a size bigger than I’d buy in the shops, and fits me quite snug. Strange one, the pattern size of this (and the instructions! Glad I’m not the only one who struggled!)

the hoody is actually a cape, so no sleeves involved, if you can do kasia, i am sure u can figure out the cape. the only thing i regret was following the pattern’s instruction on making the pocket, not useful, super confusing, and doesn’t look great with the cape. do it cindy, i know you will do well!

we are remodeling our house at this moment, so i am “supposed” to be cleaning and packing, but after looking at your skirt, makes me want one too heheh.

That explains why you can reply to my message so quickly..hahaha. How nice to remodel your place. I still need to come visit sometimes….maybe after your remodeling is done…hehehe :)

Alright Mary, you convinced me! I will look for some fabric and work on it. I actually like those pockets on the cape, they give it some characters. Good to know that the instruction is confusing, but it’s OK. I have you to call on when I am stuck. :)

Thank you Mary. Are you sewing anything fun lately? I love your blue hoody jacket. I would love to sew a jacket, but still not confident enough. :)
