My Own Plaid Pinafore

Added Dec 27, 2014

Columbus, Ohio, ...

I was adventurous and made the pinafore pattern in plaid. Well…..everything worked out pretty well in the end however on first construction of the pattern things didn’t line up quite right in the bust/waist area. With a little nip here and a bit of a tuck there things worked out well in the end.

This was my first time using plaid soooo the pattern doesn’t really match on the bodice in the back as well as along the waist line. Slap a cardigan and a belt on and no one knows the difference = ) !

Material Notes

Flannel was a little too heavy of a choice for this pattern but it makes a wonderful fall/winter dress. Something lighter such as linen or even just regular cotton would be great for spring/summer

Hi krricher, Thank you very much for taking the trouble to giving me a credit for this pattern – it means a lot!

It looks wonderful in this plaid and I love the colours.

    A lovely project.

It turned out great and with the belt on you really can’t see the lines. Being made of flannel, I would wear it over a lightweight turtleneck for colder days, I think it will be cute :)
