My olfashioned dress with the rose

Added Jan 3, 2010

This dress couldn’t became my friend at first. One reason is that there is a weight-limit I determined and I was not prepared to make concessions when I cut the dress… so it acutually fits a bit closely. ;) The outcome of the dress also was a problem at first: I made this rose and it took me a lot of hours but I really was irritated because it makes the dress look a bit oldfashioned.
But now, just after taking photos in the snow, I am easy in my mind and I held out the hand of friendship to this dress.
The pattern is burda 1/10 Mod. 117

I agree, it doesn’t look old fashioned at all! I actually think it looks quite modern in that fabric, but with a vintage twist. Thanks for your lovely comment!

“vintage” is the word I thought of, when I saw your wonderful dress first! The rose is on it’s best place. Somehow I get envious, because the dress fits so perfectly. I love these pleats on the left side. I’ll try to sew it, too – but as a test sample. Maybe it does not fit me, because I am much shorter than you are.

Sehr schön und überhaupt nicht altmodisch! Durch Deine Stoffwahl sogar eher futuristisch :-)

I think it looks amazing! And it has a rather vintage-look than old-fashioned! It looks very elegant with gloves and boots! I think I have to check out Burda 1/10.
