My "Ken" :-)

I sew this shirt for my boyfriend Nitzan. This is the first time I sew men cloths and I was pretty nervous about it. I think it turned out quite good, at least by his family’s enthusiasm. He didn’t like the sleeves tabs, so I might have to remove them, also the buttons location is quite odd, I wish I took another shirt of his and measured the location according to the shirt.
The pattern I used is from Burda magazine 03/09.

Material Notes

A beautiful cheese cloth that HE selected :-)

Wow – great job! Looks totally professional / store bought. I once made a shirt with a collar and it’s just too much work!!! Way to go for having such patience!!!

yes it turned out to take too much time. I wanted it to be ready for the passover dinner, but didn’t finish it in time. At least the button holes where a piece of cake with my new Bernina.
And I think he feels too dressed up in this shirt, so he doesn’t wear it often….

I thinks it’s a gorgeous shirt! And the fabric Nitzam chose is perfect. It mightn’t be perfect but it’s so good especially for your first shirt! I’ve wanted to make a shirt like this for my husband forever… gotta get a pattern cause i drafted one myself and meh… not that great

oh…wow thanks! Well, you have courage to draft the pattern yourself! I don’t think I’m capable of doing that.
Luckily I have some old Burda mags and there are some nice men patterns in them. But I think you can find a pattern here, in burdastyle.

I love sewing for my husband and this shirt is on my radar if I can get through my never ending current list of projects. I think you did a great job, and it’s too bad he doesn’t like the tabs on the sleeves because I think they add to the shirt a lot

The shirt looks great. Please don’t change a thing! I wish I had Burda 03/09 to make this shirt for my husband. It will make a great father’s day present (well, it will be from our sons). Well done libbysharf

      Thank you… but I’m afraid he won’t wear it I don’t remove the tabs…
What a cute idea to sew your husband a present from your sons! It’s a shame there are not so many men patterns in Burda.

It came out lovely, shame he doesn’t like the sleeves tabs, it’s really cool and adds to the hall look. good job.
