My Job Interview Dress

Added May 1, 2010

Mount Vernon, Ne...

I needed a dress to wear with my Banana Republic navy blue suit jacket for a job interview. The suit originally came with a pant (which I won’t wear on interviews). I made this navy dress from the New Look 6799 pattern (C version). I made a minor adjustment on the collar which included a ruffle with unfinished edges. I choose to line the entire dress instead of partially. I lined the dress with a really cool silk I purchased last year which resembles the Burberry signature fabric.

Material Notes

Fabric: 100% lightweight wool and Lining: 100% silk

Garment Type
Business, Classic
Silk, Suiting, Wool

Classic! Fit is perfect and I love the lining. I bet you you could dress it up easily for a night out too. Best of luck on your interview!

Very flattering on your figure and the band across your waist is very slimming. Nice job :-)
