Your jeans look great for your first time out. The more times you make them, the better they get until you will be a jeans machine, making them in all kinds of different fabric and a fit that is perfect for you. I make jeans all the time and they are my favorite to make. I often use a vintage singer sewing machine or my pfaff 332 to make them. I don’t really do serged seams but flat fell seams on my jeans. What I also do to save money and have different color options is to use 2 spools of standard thread setup in my machine for top stitching. Since I have several machines I use when I making them. One machine is set and dedicated just for topstitching. I find using a blind hem foot and a 1/4 inch foot helps with getting your topstitching perfect. I have a copy of the closet case e-book and find she talks about the same thing.

Hope you enjoy your jeans making adventure. Where you live, you will save yourself considerable money making your own instead of ready to wear jeans. Plus you get the perfect fit, which is so important for jeans that you will wear over and over again, or like i do, daily.
