My First Top - The Unintended Peplum

Added Aug 10, 2013

Manchester, Unit...

This is the first top I have made, I have been avoiding making a top for so long for fear of doing an FBA, silly I know. It’s based on Burda 05/2012 110B. Like a box this pattern which does not agree with my short frame so I decided to take it in, but went a little crazy at the waist and forgot about the hips. End result – An unintended peplum with not so comfortable side seams. Looks kind of strange on the hanger.

That being said it is not too bad on.. You live and learn. More on my blog http://bit.ly/10xjC1Y

FBA are my nemesis! It looks like you did a great job here though and I love the fabric!

It’s really cute! When I started my first top, I just cut up the fabric wrongly, it was so bad I shelved the project. So good on you for persevering! I love the fabric, too. :)
