My crazy experiment

This project was the result of a product review I did for Minerva Crafts. I got this thick padded jersey and went all experimental on it! I decided to try to make a tight sitting dress with this, so I started by using a pattern for the neckline, shoulder seams and armholes (that was New Look 6808, beautiful pattern by the way!) and legging it from there on.

I’ve also given my business a name: Cotton Candy :)
And created a Facebook page and an Instagram account for it. It’s still empty there but good stuff will come soon, follow Cotton Candy and who knows, maybe one day you see something you like?

This tunic it;s so beautiful. The top part has an interesting cut and all the pattern is very flattering. You have styled it great Maria.

What a fabulous creation and sewn up in a very flattering fit! It reminds me of a 60s or 70s tunic – I’d like to try wearing it with some simple jersey palazzo pants in the same colour as the trim. They would only need to be very simple because the tunic is the star of the show! :)

      Thank you so much :)
I don’t have bottoms in this color but I have tights :D so there’s already been a with a trial with straight knee-length denim skirt and those tights together with this tunic.

Love, love, love this piece! Very chic! Dress up or down. I have been thinking about doing something like this, a long blouse with the split side seams. THanks for the inspiration!

Absolutely LOVE what you made…please wear it and don’t scrap it! A palazzo pants set has been on my projects list, and now that I see yours, I’m inspired! Great job! Excited for your “Cotton Candy” endeavor.

Thank you so much! I got so many compliments for this thing that I’m reconsidering it, I think I’ll keep wearing it for now :)
I’m really excited (and a bit nervous) myself, but we’ll see how it goes :)

Thank you so much Luda! I don’t know what to call it either, I didn’t expect this reaction to it at all, this is something I’m considering to recycle already, now I’m rethinking :)

In the 60’s I believe they called an outfit like this a Palazzo Pants set!
