my braided crown

After seeing similar headbands/ ear warmers all around the internet I decided that I simply must make one for myself! I also decided that I don’t need any pattern so I eyeballed the whole thing. And it’s pretty easy actually! The back part is knitted in the round using double pointed needles. For the front part the total number of stitches is split in three and then each section is knitted separately. When they reached the desired length I braided them together and then rejoined all into one again. I used provisional cast on so that I could graft the ends of the band nicely, and that’s about it :)

I’m super happy with the end result! It’s a perfect thing for those days when it’s too warm to wear a hat but still too cold to go out of the house without your ears covered. Plus, it’s also perfect for camouflaging your roots when they’re due for a touch up. What roots you may ask? Exactly :)

Material Notes

The headband is made with the same yarn as my slouchy hat . After I finished them both I still had some yarn leftover so I even made a cowl! What can I say, I really love this color :)

I don’t wear headbands, you know, it’s because when I was a kid, my mom forced an ugly 90s style fleece headband on my head every winter morning and I hated, hated it! But this, I’d wear. It’s so darn pretty and girly and looks cozy and warm, and stylish. Heck of a headband, well done!

Oh my god, I remember these! I had one in navy blue, it made my hair static and I absolutely hated it. Luckily, I recovered since :) And I’m sure you will too, when the right headband come :)

Thank you, I’m glad you like it! I hope my instructions was clear enough and helpful, I’m not a native English speaker so I often find myself grasping for the right words :)

Thank you! I think it would look awesome with the fabric, you can choose some jersey or something else that’s soft and doesn’t fray.
