Mustard Rayon Midi Skirt & Grey Renfrew Tee

This project started with the fabric. I picked up this stunning piece from the Fabric Store in LA last year and have been scared to cut into it ever since! It was so hard to decide what to use it for as I didn’t want to waste it. I’m really pleased I kept it simple with this self drafted midi skirt as it allows the quality and drape of the fabric to speak for itself. The t-shirt has ended up being a perfect pairing for it but was a total happy accident as I had just enough of the marl cotton lycra lurking in my stash to whip up a quick Renfrew tee. Full details on my construction techniques can be found on my blog here https://chainstitcher.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/mustard-rayon-midi-skirt-charcoal.html

Agree with Beccki about your decision to sew this outfit. The color match with the Renfrew tee is great.I really like it.

Thank you very much! It must have been meant to be that I had enough of this fabric left over as the shade of grey does seem to be just right with the mustard

I know what its like when you are so in love with a fabric you are so scared to put the scissors to it, but its always good to wait for that moment of clarity. The skirt is a gorgeous colour and a great fit, personally I love midi skirts and I’m only 5ft, i think the style suits you and this is a really nice outfit.

That is exactly what happened Beccki! A moment of clarity when I realised I shouldn’t overcomplicate it and just showcase the beautiful drape. I’m a midi convert!
